Join the Conversation!
Runway Conversations invites diverse voices to share, reflect upon, and discuss contemporary Australian art practice, as it happens.
As a quick-response platform for the regular publishing of art criticism and commentary, Conversations aims to generate discussion and provide a space of exchange in between, in response to, and beyond Runway’s thrice-annual themed issues.
We encourage and welcome comments, discussion, debate and dissent within this forum, and look forward to your contribution!

Rules of Engagement
It is critical to the integrity of intention and success of Conversations that it remains a safe space for all who wish to participate. Comments are moderated according to the following principles, and we respectfully ask that you read and consider these before contributing.
– Runway acknowledges and pays respect to the diverse Aboriginal nations that occupied the unceded lands now known as Australia before colonisation as the traditional owners and custodians of these lands.
– Runway condemns sexist, racist, misogynist, homophobic, transphobic, culturally inappropriate, and other discriminatory language and rhetoric. This will not be tolerated or published.
– Runway strives to avoid making assumptions about participants in this forum, whether authors, artists or commenters. This includes mis-gendering, presumptions about sexuality, culture, and any other identities. Gender neutral language (they, their rather than he/his/her/hers) is preferred where someone has not self-identified.
– Runway welcomes critical discussion, however discussion should be productive and generative. Critique that does not invite response, consider the opinions of others, or seek to contribute positively to discussion is not desirable. This is a discursive platform about contemporary art and ideas, not a space to air grievances, make personal attacks or spread violence or hate.
We hope you will join the conversation. Likewise, if you have any feedback about comments, our principles, or discussions happening on the site we welcome all constructive correspondence.
Runway Conversations is supported by the NSW Government through Arts NSW.
